Game Play Rules

National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules will be followed with the following exceptions:

a. 20 minute running clock except for the last 2 minutes of each half. In addition, the clock will stop on all technical fouls. Clock does not restart until it would in a normal dead ball situation

b.
3 full (60 second) time-outs per game two 30sec time-outs.

c. Bonus "1 and 1 free throw" is in effect on the 7th foul of any half. Double bonus "2 free throws" is in effect on the 10th foul in any half and any subsequent foul thereafter.

d .
Overtimes will be 2 minutes in length with regular clock operation. The clock stops on all dead balls in overtime. 1 additional time-out for each overtime.

e .
A minimum of 5 minutes will be provided for pre-game warm-up (the warm-up time may be reduced at the option of the Tournament Director). Half-time warm-up is available for team members in uniform and playing in the next scheduled game. Practice balls will not be provided. Teams may not use game ball for warm up or practice.

Game time is forfeit time.

9u boys division will use official 26" dia. youth ball. The 11u & 13u boys division will use the official intermediate 28.5" ball. Boys divisions 14 and above will use the official men’s 29.5" ball. The 11u and 13u girls division will use 26" dia. youth ball. Girls 14 and older use the official WNBA ball.

h .
9u boys and 11u girls teams will play on 8.5 foot goals.

i. Jerseys must have a number on both the front and back with no number restrictions.

j. Players may play on only one team within a league or tournament age group. Players eligibility will be checked upon request. Players may play "up" in an older age group but may not play "down" in a younger age group.

k .
Teams may trade players only with the commissioner's approval and before the halfway way point of the season. Players wishing to join adraft team AFTER the draft will follow the order of the draft sequence. The team owning the draft rights to the new draftee may add the player to its roster or use its draft pick in a trade. All trades must be approved by the MYBA commissioner.

l. Each team must provide a scorekeeper. MYBA will provide official clock operator

Tiebreaker procedure is as follows: The first criterion is head to head competition; a coin flip will be used to determine seeding. If the tournament is a "Round Robin" tournament, a point differential system will go in effect at the commissioner's discretion. Margin of victory up to a 14-point max per game will be used to determine final placing if there are no brackets.

IMPORTANT
Players and or participants in any MYBA function must have a liability waiver form on file signed by all authorized persons before taking part in any MYBA sanctioned activity
